Stenbolone Acetate
A rare injectable derivative of dihydrotestosterone (2-methyl-1-dehydro-DHT) with an acetate ester, briefly marketed as Anatrofin. It is a moderately anabolic, non-aromatising DHT-class steroid conceptually similar to a boldenone-flavoured masteron, giving dry, lean effects. It saw little clinical use and has essentially no modern human data.
01 Overview
Stenbolone is 2-methyl-5-alpha-androst-1-en-17-beta-ol-3-one, a DHT derivative bearing a 1,2 double bond and a 2-methyl group. The short acetate ester requires frequent injection. Being 5-alpha reduced already and lacking the structure for aromatisation, it produces no oestrogen and no progestogenic activity, giving a dry, hardening profile.
It was produced only briefly (as Anatrofin/Stenbolone) and never widely, so its evidence base is almost entirely historical and anecdotal. It is generally described as milder and less androgenic than closely related compounds, used for lean tissue and conditioning rather than bulk.
02 Mechanism
Androgen-receptor agonist of the DHT class; the 2-methyl group and 1,2 double bond preserve activity while it cannot aromatise, giving non-oestrogenic, dry anabolic effects.
03 Dosing
| Tier | Dose | Route | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Estimated common | 200–300 mg/wk | IM | Short ester; frequent injections. Inferred range. |
| Estimated heavy | 350–450 mg/wk | IM | Sparse data; higher androgenic load. |
