Isopropylphenidate (IPPH)

Isopropylphenidate (IPPH) is an isopropyl ester analogue of methylphenidate marketed as a research chemical stimulant. It is reported as a longer-acting, more functional and less compulsive phenidate than ethylphenidate. Human data is essentially anecdotal.

01 Overview

IPPH is a phenidate analogue in which the methyl ester of methylphenidate is replaced by an isopropyl group. Users describe a smoother, longer and more functional stimulant experience with less of the compulsive redosing associated with ethylphenidate.

There are no controlled human studies. Its pharmacology is inferred from methylphenidate and structure-activity relationships within the phenidate class, and its safety and neurotoxic profile are uncharacterised.

02 Mechanism

Inhibits reuptake of dopamine and noradrenaline via transporter blockade, like methylphenidate, with a longer duration attributed to the isopropyl ester.
