DMXE (deoxymethoxetamine, a 3-methoxy analogue in the MXE/PCE family) is a dissociative research chemical closely related to methoxetamine. Like other arylcyclohexylamines it acts as an NMDA receptor antagonist, producing dissociation, analgesia and, at higher doses, immersive dissociative states. Human safety data are minimal.

01 Overview

DMXE appeared on the research-chemical market as a successor to methoxetamine-type dissociatives after tighter controls on earlier analogues. It is reported to have a longer duration than ketamine and to produce strong dissociative effects.

Formal pharmacological and toxicological data are essentially absent, so potency, metabolism and long-term risks are unknown. Concerns common to the MXE family include cardiovascular stimulation, dissociative 'holes' at high doses, and possible urinary or cognitive effects with heavy repeated use.
