Testosterone Suspension
Un-esterified testosterone suspended in an aqueous vehicle. With no ester to cleave, it is pure testosterone that acts almost immediately and clears quickly, requiring daily (or more frequent) injection. The effect and side-effect profile is testosterone's, undiluted by ester weight.
01 Overview
Testosterone suspension is raw, crystalline testosterone dispersed in water rather than dissolved in oil with an ester. Because there is no ester to hydrolyse, essentially the full injected mass is active hormone available immediately, producing a rapid spike in serum testosterone and a very short duration of action.
This makes it the most milligram-for-milligram potent testosterone preparation but also the most demanding: daily or twice-daily injections, and aqueous crystalline suspensions are notoriously painful at the injection site. It is used clinically only rarely; in non-clinical use it is favored for fast pre-competition effect.
02 Mechanism
Injected testosterone is immediately bioavailable, binding the androgen receptor and aromatising to estradiol without any ester-hydrolysis delay; it suppresses gonadotropins by negative feedback.
