01 Overview
Pemvidutide (ALT-801) is a peptide dual agonist of the GLP-1 and glucagon receptors developed by Altimmune. The glucagon component is intended to boost energy expenditure and reduce hepatic fat, positioning it for both obesity and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
Phase 2 data (MOMENTUM in obesity, IMPACT in MASH) have shown competitive weight loss and marked reductions in liver fat. Human evidence is mid-stage; long-term outcome data are not yet available.
