Nandrolone Hexyloxyphenylpropionate (Anadur)
A very long-acting ester of nandrolone marketed in Europe as Anadur (Anadurine), used clinically for anaemia, osteoporosis and cachexia with dosing intervals of up to several weeks. It delivers the well-characterised nandrolone profile — lean mass, collagen and erythropoietic effects with progestogenic sexual side effects — with an unusually slow release even relative to the decanoate.
01 Overview
Nandrolone hexyloxyphenylpropionate carries a long, lipophilic hexyloxyphenylpropionate ester that extends release further than the decanoate, historically allowing injections every one to three weeks in clinical practice. Sold as Anadur, it was used for chronic anaemia, osteoporosis and wasting conditions, giving it a genuine if dated human evidence base.
Being nandrolone, it is 5-alpha reduced to the weaker dihydronandrolone (low androgenic burden), aromatises modestly and activates the progesterone receptor, so progestogenic and oestrogenic effects define its risks. The very long ester means both benefits and suppression persist for weeks, and the detection window is long.
02 Mechanism
Androgen-receptor agonist increasing protein and collagen synthesis and erythropoiesis; 5-alpha reduced to dihydronandrolone, with aromatised and progestogenic metabolites acting at oestrogen and progesterone receptors.
