Nandrolone Cypionate
A moderately long-acting nandrolone ester using the cypionate (cyclopentylpropionate) chain, giving release kinetics similar to nandrolone decanoate. Effects match nandrolone (deca); it is less commonly manufactured than decanoate or phenylpropionate, so ester-specific human data are thin.
01 Overview
Nandrolone cypionate pairs 19-nortestosterone with cyclopentylpropionic acid, the same ester used on testosterone cypionate. Its release profile sits close to nandrolone decanoate, requiring injection roughly weekly. It is an uncommon commercial product; most nandrolone use is decanoate (deca) or phenylpropionate (NPP), so this ester is comparatively niche.
The active hormone after hydrolysis is nandrolone, giving the classic deca profile: strong anabolism, low androgenicity, progestogenic activity and marked suppression. As dedicated human studies on the cypionate ester are lacking, ester-specific claims are graded observational, while the well-studied parent hormone supports clinical grading for core effects.
02 Mechanism
Esterases hydrolyse the cypionate ester to release nandrolone, which binds the androgen receptor with a high anabolic-to-androgenic ratio and exhibits progestogenic activity. It is 5-alpha reduced to the weaker DHN.
