N-Ethylhexedrone (hexen, NEH) is a synthetic cathinone and dopamine/noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor, closely related to the pyrrolidine cathinones though with an open-chain N-ethyl group. It was widely sold as a research chemical from the mid-2010s. Human pharmacology is uncharacterised; it is intensely stimulating and prone to compulsive redosing.

N-Ethylhexedrone is a hexanophenone cathinone marketed as 'hexen'. Users describe strong, clean stimulation with limited euphoria and a short duration, a combination that promotes heavy redosing. It is used orally and by insufflation.

Information is limited to early-warning-system notifications, seizures and intoxication reports. Class hazards apply: cardiovascular strain, compulsive redosing, severe comedown, and unconfirmed long-term neurotoxicity. Its DAT-inhibiting profile places it toward the more compulsive end of the class.
