Methylepitiostanol
Methylepitiostanol ('Epistane', 2,3-epithio-17alpha-methyl-5alpha-androstan-17beta-ol) is a 17-alpha-methylated epithio (2,3-epithio) DHT-derived designer steroid that also has anti-estrogenic activity. It provides dry lean gains and mild aromatase/estrogen-antagonist effects, with the hepatotoxicity and suppression typical of methylated orals and only anecdotal human data.
01 Overview
Methylepitiostanol carries a 2,3-epithio ring that confers weak anti-estrogenic activity in addition to its androgenic action, historically making it attractive as a 'dry' recomposition oral. It is non-aromatising and 5-alpha reduced in configuration, yielding a hard look and some reported reduction of estrogenic bloat.
Though popular as a designer steroid, it has never undergone formal human trials. As a 17-alpha-alkylated oral it is hepatotoxic and suppressive; the anti-estrogen character can worsen lipids and mood.
