DOP (2,5-dimethoxy-4-propylamphetamine) is a psychedelic amphetamine of the DOx series, the 4-propyl homologue of DOM. Like other DOx compounds it is potent, active in the low milligram range, and very long-acting. Human data is extremely sparse, limited to Shulgin's notes and a few anecdotal reports; there are no controlled studies.

01 Overview

DOP is a lengthened analogue of DOM within the DOx family of substituted amphetamine psychedelics. These compounds are 5-HT2A agonists characterised by high potency, slow onset and unusually long duration. Shulgin recorded only limited data on DOP, and it remains one of the more obscure members of the series.

Because human knowledge is so thin, effects and risks are largely inferred from the DOx class as a whole: high potency, a slow onset that invites hazardous redosing, very long duration, and strong vasoconstriction at higher doses. Specific toxicology for DOP is essentially uncharacterised.

Agonist at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors, the shared mechanism of classical psychedelics; the amphetamine backbone confers high potency and long duration.
