Clonazolam

Also known as Clonitrazolam

Clonazolam (clonitrazolam) is a triazolo analogue of clonazepam and one of the most potent designer benzodiazepines known, with effects reported at doses as low as ~0.5 mg. Its extreme potency makes accurate dosing without laboratory equipment effectively impossible, and it is associated with prolonged sedation, dense amnesia and overdose.

01 Overview

Clonazolam combines the clonazepam nitro group with a triazole ring, producing a compound that is active in the sub-milligram range and often described as more potent than either alprazolam or clonazepam. There are no human clinical studies; the evidence base is anecdotal reports, harm-reduction observations and forensic casework.

The central practical danger is potency: the difference between an active dose and a strongly sedating one is a fraction of a milligram, far below what can be measured on typical scales. Users commonly prepare volumetric solutions to dose accurately. Overdose produces protracted sedation and blackout, and in combination with opioids or alcohol the additive respiratory depression can be fatal.
