5-MAPB
5-MAPB is the N-methyl benzofuran analogue of 5-APB and a structural counterpart to MDMA. It acts as a serotonin-norepinephrine-dopamine releaser and is described as one of the more MDMA-like benzofurans. Human evidence is limited to user reports and case data.
01 Overview
5-MAPB (5-(2-methylaminopropyl)benzofuran) is to 5-APB what MDMA is to MDA: the addition of an N-methyl group. It is often reported as producing a smoother, more MDMA-like experience than the primary amines.
No controlled human studies exist. Its profile is inferred from user self-reports, its close structural relationship to MDMA, and in vitro releasing data. As a serotonergic releaser it carries the class risks of hyperthermia, serotonin toxicity and cardiovascular strain.

Releases serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine; N-methylation moderates potency and is thought to shift the profile toward MDMA-like effects.
