2C-TFM
2C-TFM is a 2C-family psychedelic phenethylamine bearing a 4-trifluoromethyl group. It is potent and stimulating with a long duration, and is among the more obscure and poorly-characterised 2C compounds.
01 Overview
2C-TFM (2,5-dimethoxy-4-trifluoromethylphenethylamine) replaces the 4-substituent of the 2C series with a trifluoromethyl group, which raises 5-HT2A affinity and potency. Reports describe a clear, stimulating and strongly visual psychedelic experience lasting well beyond the typical 2C range, on the order of 8-15 hours.
Human information is minimal and anecdotal. Its long duration and stimulation combine to make it demanding, and its dose-response is not well mapped.
02 Mechanism
High-affinity serotonin 5-HT2A receptor agonist; the electron-withdrawing trifluoromethyl group increases potency relative to 2C-D-type compounds.
